Wired networks are the most reliable means of connecting PC's.  When possible ACR recommends hard wiring your network because your connected with wire and it is a constant connection.  It is the best solution for connectivity. The draw back to this solution is the price for labor to install wire to every room that has a PC. Plus  you cannot move your laptop or PC to another location  without being "plugged in".
